Who We Are
Solidarity Uganda is a dynamic collective of activists, community organizers, and political educators committed to empowering marginalized communities across Africa and beyond. Since 2012, we’ve partnered with grassroots movements to amplify their voices, sharpen their strategies, and drive lasting social change.
Our mission is to build the power of the oppressed by equipping them with the skills they need to fight back against injustice. From nonviolent resistance to transformative campaigns, we focus on training, coaching, and capacity-building that elevates social and political effectiveness.
Solidarity Uganda educates vulnerable communities through discussion-based “problem-posing” education. The pedagogical methods of such community-based trainings employ cross-cultural interactions, physical activities, arts, debates, and other interactive and experiential approaches. Some call this “popular education,” “pedagogy of the oppressed,” or “adult education” (but we think even kids learn better this way).
We envision an egalitarian society, where power is shared, accountability is nurtured, and oppressive systems are dismantled. Together, we stand against authoritarianism, corporate exploitation, and injustice.
Join us in building a future rooted in solidarity, equality, and resistance.
